Take a Stake in the Lakes Clean Up Events

Take a Stake in the Lakes, established in 1987, is a volunteer lakeshore clean-up event, combining public equipment with private elbow grease to ready our water resources for a summer of fun. Hundreds of volunteers will clean shorelines and streambanks across Dane County as part of this two-day event, generally set for the 2nd and 3rd Saturday in June. Volunteer SCUBA divers conduct lake bottom clean-ups earlier in the season. To find out more, contact Rhea Stangel-Maier at 224-3601 or stangel-maier@co.dane.wi.us.
